Amanda was born in 1847. Amanda's father was Simon Christi and her mother was Elizabeth Pierson. Her maternal grandparents were John Pierson and Nancy P. Gee. She had five brothers and three sisters, named John W., Henry, James, F. Tilghman, Jennings P., dau, Mary and Sarah. She was the second youngest of the nine children.-
