Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Henry Edwards and Martha Jane Rountree; her maternal grandparents were Gray Lemon Hargrove and Felicia Little. She had a brother named Opie Gray. She was the younger of the two children. She died at the age of 48 in 1942 in Edgecombe Co. NC. She was buried in Greenwood Cemetery Tarboro, NC.General Notes
