Maud was born in of Clifford Castle,Herefordshire,England.1   Maud's father was Walter III, Baron Clifford de Clifford and her mother was Marared Drwyndon verch Llywelyn , of Wales Fawr.  Her paternal grandparents were Walter II, Baron Clifford de Clifford and Agnes , Lady of Cavenby de Condet; her maternal grandparents were Llewelyn Ap Iorwerth Prince of Wales and Joan of England Princess of North Wales. She had three half-brothers named William VI, Mar de Montferrat, John and Sir Richard , Lord Stainton Manor.  She died in December 1283.1 


Maud's first family with William III Longespâee

‌Maud and William III were married in a religious ceremony on April 30th, 1244 in Herefordshire,England.1   They had a daughter named Margaret.


Maud's second family with Sir John Giffard Lord Giffard

‌Maud and Sir John Giffard were married in a religious ceremony in 1271 in Brimsfield,Gloucestershire,England.1   They had three daughters named Katherine, Eleanor and Maud.
