Rognvald "The Wise", known as The Wise, was born about 0830 in of Maer,Nord Trondelag,Norway and his baptism took place in Norway - Aka Ragnvald the Wise.1 The Wise's father was Eystein Glumra the Noisy Jarl of the Upplands Ivarsson and his mother was Aseda Rognvaldsdatter , Countess of Oppland. His paternal grandparents were Ivar Earl of the Uplands and Daugher of Trondheim; his maternal grandparents were Rognwald (Rogvolod) Olafsson Cnt and Tora Sigurdsdottir. He had a brother and a sister, named Malahule and Svanhild. He was the oldest of the three children. He had two half-brothers named Earl Sigurd I of and Earl Rognvald of. He died in 0890 in Orkney,Scotland. He was buried about 0890.1 General Notes
