Svanhild was born in 0850 in Maer Nord Trondelag Norway.  Svanhild's father was Eystein Glumra the Noisy Jarl of the Upplands Ivarsson and her mother was Aseda Rognvaldsdatter , Countess of Oppland.  Her paternal grandparents were Ivar Earl of the Uplands and Daugher of Trondheim; her maternal grandparents were Rognwald (Rogvolod) Olafsson Cnt and Tora Sigurdsdottir.
