Philip was born about 1080 in Bramber,Sussex,England. Philip's father was Baron William I De Braose 1st Lord of Bramber and his mother was Agnes De St. Clare. His paternal grandparents were Robert de BRUSSE and Emma de Bretagne; his maternal grandparents were Waldron De St. Clare and Helena Le Bon. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Adam, John, Matilde, daughter , dame d'Harcourt, Miss and Hortense. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children. He died in 1155.General Notes
