Oswalda was born about 1119 in <Skelton in Cleveland,North Riding,Yorkshire,England>.1 Oswalda's father was Adam I Brus Earl of Skelton and her mother was Jueta de Arches Countess of Annandale. Her paternal grandparents were Robert I Brus Earl of Annandale and Agnès Pagnell; her maternal grandparents were William de Arches and Jueta de York. She had two brothers and a sister, named Adam II de, William and Miss Bruce. She was the oldest of the four children. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Hugh, Maud De and Agnes.-
