MARGARET was born in 1292 in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, England.1   MARGARET's father was GILBERT (Sir) "the Red" 9th EARL de CLARE and her mother was JOAN PLANTAGENET de ACRE.  Her paternal grandparents were RICHARD 8th EARL de CLARE and MAUD (Countess) de LACIE; her maternal grandparents were EDWARD I "Longshanks" KING de ENGLAND and ELEANOR (Countess) de CASTILE. She had two sisters named ELEANOR (Alianore) and ELIZABETH.  She was the oldest of the three children. She had a half-brother named THOMAS BARON.  She died at the age of 50 on April 9th, 1342 in France.1
