Whereas Bryant Spradley, the elder, hath applied to me for letters of
Administration on all and singular, the goods and chattels, rights and
credits of Dillard Spradley .... at our next Ordinary's Court to show
cause, if any, why the Administration should not be granted.
Given under my hand and seal this 26th day of January in the year of
our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Three and in the XXVII year of

Will of Dillard Spradley
Bryant Spradley, Sen and John Martin sayeth that the last words that
Dillard Spradley spoke concerning his affairs was as follows: That his
wife was to have his riding horse, and the Cattle that was called hers,
and a feather bed. James was to have his gun. The land and the use of
his property was to be sold, and after all just debts were paid, the
balance his wife was to have, as long as she remained single.

Before me, Bryant Spradley, the elder and John Martin appeared personally
and made oath that they were present at the time of the death of Dillard
Spradley, and that shortly before he expired, he being at that time, as
these deponents verily believe, of sound and disposing mind, memory and
understanding; and having called on these Deponents to bear witness, he
pronounce the above, or words to the same effect, declaring the same to
be the manner in which his Goods, Efects, should be disposed of. And
that his Death happened on the Twentieth Day of January instant, in the

Belk 80 acres in Sumner District on the Beaver Dam branch being part of a
tract of 1,000 acres granted to David Reynolds 2 January 1780 in Grant
Book 2222, Page ___ . Signed by Dillard Spradley and Martha Spradley.

Spradley, Jr., James Spradley and Wyatt Collins so Bryant could serve as
administrator. Signed by Bryant Spradley and James Spradley, and Wyatt

Dillard Spradley who died intestate.

*JLB Note. This was a running credit account in which Dillard was
charged for a large number of transactions including items for his
brother, Bryant Spradley. Among the charges were materials for clothing
to be sewn by Ann Canthy and H. Cunningham. A quart of rum was delivered
to George Payne and a hat and knife to Payne's Negro. Sundries were
delivered to John Spradley. The transactions occurred from Oct. 5, 1801
through Nov. 1802 and totalled with interest #36.6.11.
