His paternal grandparents were David Lindsey Smith and Mary Ann Pody; his maternal grandparents were Calvin Teel and Sarah Louise Griffin. He had six brothers and two sisters, named John D., Joseph R., Ollie C., David Lonnie, Jr., Thomas Ben C., Andrew Jackson, Betty C. and Polly A.. He was the second youngest of the nine children. Arnold Gothard was married to my father's uncle Felix L. Smith's daughter
Mary. Mary's sisters are Jeannete, Lucille, Sara (deceased) and a brother
David
Smith. Lucille is in the Nursing Home at Coosa Valley Baptist Hospital in
Sylacauga. This is the Felix Smith of Sylacauga married to Minnie Brown,
not the Felix Smith of Rockford. Mickey
