Mary Ann Skinner

Mary Ann was born on August 25th, 1823 in Clarksville, Robertson County, Tennessee.¹   Mary Ann's father was Josiah S. Skinner and her mother was Leah Garrett.  Her paternal grandparents were Emanuel Skinner and Elizabeth Moore; her maternal grandfather was Stanford L. Garrett. She had three brothers named Washington Lee, Josiah Washington and James John.  She was the second youngest of the four children. She had two half-brothers and eight half-sisters, named William, Chaurstory, Letitia, Shany, Rebecca, Pamela, Lydia, Martha, Bathsheba and Elizabeth.  She died at the age of 77 in 1900.¹ 

‌Mary Ann and James Mason were married in a religious ceremony on June 19th, 1851.²
