Custom Field:<_FA#> Died in the War Between the States near@@S726784@@Date of Import: Jul 31, 2003 [coosa1.ged] A letter, which I found in a book titled The Marble Valley Boys by Wayne Wood, has a letter in it written by Henry Black Wood. Part of it is typed in the below just as was written. The top of the letter has "Camp Davis'es Ford, Manassus Junction, Jan. 29 1862". In the letter Henry wrote, "We lost one of our mess mates night before last to wit Joseph Sharbett. (Spelt that way in the letter.) he was on duty and had a chile and then come to get a man to stand in his place and then complained of a pain in his side. he lived two and one night after he was taken. Joseph was a good soldier. he always was ready when his name was called. he was ready to respond and do his part of the duty and such men as he adn others that I could name that is dead. we mourn ther loss and hate to give them up. but it is gods will and we must be satisfied."
