On 27 Jun 1862, Theophilus volunteered at Montgomery, AL with his
brother-in-law, Solomon James Rushing and served with Company C, 60th
Alabama Infantry Regiment. Records show he was at Chicamauga, Bean's
Station and Drury's Bluff. He was in the Confederate Army three years,
getting his discharge a few days after Lee's surrender. Mary Jane told
her children and grandchildren of the many hardships suffered while the
men were away in the Army.

This was only one paragraph but it goes on to talk about their marriage
and
his service in the CSA and there is a picture. It is all delightfully
written so I know you would like to see the book itself. Talks about
their life in and all their children. I think this came from the book THE
MOODYS AND RELATED FAMILIES by Mary C. Moody (wife of Virgil B. Moody).
Maybe you could try interlibrary loan from the Mexia, Texas Library. Good

HI Shirley, Thanks for the information. I remember us communicating. I
just knew about the book and did not know how to obtain one. In the book
"Rushing through the Generation" there was an address, but I had no
luck. I guess you did. Does it have Theophilus and Mary Jane Moody's
burial place? Does it have much information on Mary Jane? Take Care, Ron
