Laura Almeda was born on July 29th, 1878 in Scott Co., MS.1 Laura Almeda's father was Robert Jasper McEwen and her mother was Mary Frances Page. Her paternal grandparents were Jasper Kirkham McEwen and Mary Ann Canada. She had two brothers and eight sisters, named Robert Albert, Otho A., Minnie, Lula, Ida Frances, Neva Minerva, Lena, Nora Belle, Emma Virginia and Jessie Lee. She was the fifth youngest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 74 on September 6th, 1952 in Morton, Scott Co., MS. She was buried in Morton Cemetery, Morton, Scott Co., MS.1 1 -
