William S. was born about 1831 in TN.1 William S.'s father was Samuel Logan and his mother was Catherine E. Day. His paternal grandparents were James Ellis M. Logan and Mary (?). The 1860 Federals Census of the Southern Division of Coosa Co., AL
records him at dwelling #87 and family visitation #82. This Census
records his value of real estate at 300 and his personal estate at 600.
The 1860 Census records four children. However, their initials are hard
to read. One male is six born in GA; one female is five born in AL (her
initials look like G. C.; S. D. Logan (female) is 3 born in AL, S. W.
(male) 1 year born in AL.
‌William S. and Martha A. were married in a religious ceremony on November 3rd, 1852 in Coosa Co., AL.1
