Ron....I will check with jackie on thoses dates of Chatherine Day.....My
uncle told me that Samuel and David C Shaw were nieghbors...and that when
David C Shaw moved with Marthabea and family to Louisiana, he sold some
of his land to his father-in-law which would have been Samuel,,,,,,I will
get back with you later......God Bless.....:Liz "Dick & Liz"

Ron.....On the 1880 census I forgot to tell you ....it says that
Catherine was born in NC,,,,father born in NC,,,,,mother born in
Tenn.......but then on Delila is says that Delila was born in NC, father
born in NC and mother born in Tenn,,,,,Gee did someone make a boo
boo.......but then on Marthabea it says that Mathabea was born in AL
,,,father born in Tenn,,,,and mother born in NC.......and for Emily it
just says she was born in NC,,,,,,,So if you go by the dates of when Tenn
was open for settlements ....more than likely all the births except
Marthabea , her mother Catherines folks came from NC.......Some times
after a research like this, one just has to go and lie down for a while
,,,,tee hee hee ...Oh by the way where do you live??? We are in
Arizona,,,,,Which branch of the Logans are you from???? ......God
Bless......,Liz
Hi Ron....well here is what we have........Catherine Logan age 76 in the
Martha Shaw ( age 52) family in Winn Parrish (NOt Colfax) in
1880.....ALso daughter Delila is there at age 50.....and a cousin Emily
Delien age 22 ,,I do not know who Emily was,,,,but maybe she is the
married daughter of Delila.....Jackie and I do not think that Catherine
was buried in Alabama. as she was too old to go back......,,She is more
than likely burined at Mt Zion church in Montgomery La.....that was the
church that they attended and David and Marthabea are buried
there....Also Marthabea and David had twin boys born just a few years
before David died and they are namd Hugh and Samuel,,,,,I cant find where
they ever named a son Henry,,,,,you would think that they would name one
Henry instead of Samuel it Henry was the father of Marthabea......another
thing is that when Sam and Hugh died they were buried at Mt Zion
also,,....but there is no marker.... the old folks who are now gone said
that when they rebuilt the church, ( moved it back) that the new church
sits over their graves and other graves,,,,so it may be that Catherine is
one of thoses graves......I guess the next thing to do is to check with
the church and see if they have a record of who all is buried under the
church......But if I remember, my mother said that they really dont know
who all was buried there beause there were no markers........Liz...
