Martha Catherine was born in 1829 in Madison Co., AL.1 Martha Catherine's father was Ephraim Ledbetter and her mother was Georgia Hester T. Smith. Her paternal grandparents were Joel Ledbetter and Catherine Brazelton. She had five brothers and a sister, named Gardner Caswell, John Wesley, Daniel T., Joel P., Solomon Smith and Nancy Jane. She was the youngest of the seven children. She died at the age of 83 in 1912 in Talladega Co., AL.1 -
