Gardner Caswell Ledbetter 
Gardner Caswell was born on October 25th, 1808 in Pendleton District, SC.1 Gardner Caswell's father was Ephraim Ledbetter and his mother was Georgia Hester T. Smith. His paternal grandparents were Joel Ledbetter and Catherine Brazelton. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John Wesley, Daniel T., Joel P., Solomon Smith, Nancy Jane and Martha Catherine. He was the oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 84 on December 15th, 1892 in Rome, GA.1 General Notes
