Hulus Edgar was born on August 26th, 1907 in Grant, Marshall Co., AL.1 Hulus Edgar's father was Thomas Key and his mother was Harriet Rebecca Ledbetter. His paternal grandparents were John Henry D. Key and Cellia Ann Anderton; his maternal grandparents were Daniel Littleberry Woodville Ledbetter and Mary Elizabeth Kirkland. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Walker L., Arthur Thomas, J. Willie, Gertha Leona, Mary Ellen Idella and Pluma. He was the third oldest of the seven children.-
