William H. was born about 1823 in AL.1 William H.'s father was Felix Jordan and his mother was Sarah C. Champion. His paternal grandparents were Jonas Jordan and Elizabeth Elmore. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Turner Eldridge, Franklin A., George Washington, Felix Lawson W., Elizabeth, Mary Louisa and Lucinda S.. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
