Mary Houston 
Mary was born on July 29th, 1917.1 Mary's father was John Henry Houston and her mother was Mary Cassandra Douglas. Her paternal grandparents were William Henry Houston and Civility Priscilla Bennett; her maternal grandparents were Archibald McLendon Douglas and Cassandra Augusta Hurley. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Ned Douglas, Harry Hilton, John Henry, Jr., Gladys Lucile, Wilda, Ethel Cornelia and Mabel. She was the third youngest of the eight children.-
