Hessie Lee was born on October 5th, 1913 in Walton County, Florida.1 Hessie Lee's father was Talla Gavin and his mother was Alice Cannon. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Jefferson Gavin and Rachael Steele. He had a sister named Pauline. He was the older of the two children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Thearon Jefferson, Adileen and Ruthie Mae. He died at the age of 67 on April 25th, 1981 in Davenport, Polk County, Florida.1 -
