Joshua was born in 1843.1 Joshua's father was Robert* Jackson, Jr. Garrett and his mother was Kissiah* Rials. His paternal grandparents were Robert* Jackson, Sr. Garrett and Mary* Ann Clackler; his maternal grandparents were Archibald* Rials and Elizabeth* Green. He had four brothers and a sister, named Andrew* Jackson, William Thomas, James Pinson, John M. and Mary J. He was the second oldest of the six children. He had a half-brother named James Pinson.-
