Joseph Garrett 
Joseph was born in 1814 in Overton County, Tennessee.1 Joseph's father was Joshua Bernard Garrett and his mother was Mary Jane Taylor. His paternal grandparents were Stephen Garrett and Magdalene Bernard; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Taylor and Catherine VanDyke. He had two brothers named Joshua, Jr. and Loderick. He was the youngest of the three children.-
