Elma Louise was born on May 22nd, 1918 in St. Andrew, Bay County, Florida.1 Elma Louise's father was Archibald Marvin Douglas and her mother was Susan Gulielma Allen. Her paternal grandparents were Archibald McLendon Douglas and Cassandra Augusta Hurley. She had a brother and three sisters, named Allen Marvin, Lillian Adrea, Majorie Gilmer and Mary Wilma. She was the youngest of the five children.-
