Arthur Crenshaw 
Arthur was born on March 4th, 1875 in Chilton, NC.1 Arthur's father was Edward Frederick Crenshaw and his mother was Sarah Edith Brittain. His paternal grandparents were Walter Henry Crenshaw and Sarah Anderson Crenshaw. He had a brother and a sister, named Saxon and Edith Brittain. He was the oldest of the three children. An Ensign on board the U.S.S. Maine at the time of the explosion in the
Havana harbor; served during the Spanish American War on the San
Francisco; inspector of machinery for the governmemt, Bath, Maine; and
promoted Lieutenant Commander, U.S. Navy, July 1, 1909.
