Wiley Cowart 
Wiley was born on December 15th, 1836 in GA.1 Wiley's father was William Cowart and his mother was Nancy Gillespie. He had a brother and a sister, named John D. and Sara Jane. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 63 on August 22nd, 1900 in Coosa Co., AL. Wiley Cowart was born 15 December 1836 in Georgia, the son of William and
Nancy Cowart. On 27 December 1859 he married Elizabeth A. Lee b. March
1841 and daughter of William G. and Unicus "Nicey" Lee.
Wiley received a land Grant 22 November 1859 location S34 T22 R18. He
and Elizabeth lived in the New Hope Community after moving from near
Olive Branch. Wiley was a member of Olive Branch Church until 3 April
1887. He joined Union Baptist 21 Mar 1888.
A Private in Company F, Wiley Cowart enlisted in the Confederate Army
at Rockford on 6 February 1862. In 1894 he became Postmaster at Lyle. He
died 22 August 1900, age 65 and Elizabeth later drew a pension based on
his service.
Wiley and Elizabeth had the following children: John I. B. 12

Elizabeth died 18 February 1908 and is buried by her husband Wiley in
Liberty Hill Cemetery 3 miles West of Rockford, near where they lived.
Also buried in this cemetery are Elizabeth's parents, brother, children

‌Wiley and Elizabeth A. were married in a religious ceremony on December 27th, 1859 in Coosa Co., AL.1 They had four sons named John I., Joseph Charles, Will W. and Colis Seaborn.
