Susan Augusta Fenimore, Author Cooper 
Susan Augusta Fenimore, Author was born on April 17th, 1813 in Mararoneck, New York.1 Susan Augusta Fenimore, Author's father was James- Fenimore, Author Cooper and her mother was Susan Augusta Delancey. Her paternal grandparents were William-, Judge Cooper and Elizabeth Fenimore. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Fenimore, Paul Fenimore, Lawyer, Elizabeth, Caroline Martha Fenimore, Anne Charlotte and Maria Frances Fenimore. She was the second oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 81 on December 31st, 1894 in New York City, New York. She was buried in Christ Church Cemetery, Cooperstown, New York.1 1 General Notes

She wrote the Rural Hours, Historical Sketches and notes to the
Leatherstocking Tales. She was a travelling companion of her father
until his death. Wrote Pages and Pictures from the Writings of James
Fenimore Cooper in 1861 and other historical sketches. Founder of the
Orphan House of the Holy Savior at Cooperstown, New York in 1873.
