Joseph Dawson was born on May 25th, 1868 in Haywood Co., TN.1 Joseph Dawson's father was John Edward Castellaw and his mother was Margaret A. W. Johnson. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Jefferson Castellaw and Marah Elisar Hardy. He had a brother and two sisters, named William R., Mary L. and Dicy A.. He was the youngest of the four children. He had three half-brothers named James E., John Edward, Jr. and Benjamin Wesley. He died at the age of 75 on October 2nd, 1943 in TN. DEATH--Services were held Saturday at the Holly Grove Baptist Church
for Mrs. Miriam Eliza Castellaw PIPKIN, who died at her residence Thursday
night, burial in church cemetery. She was 79. She was born, reared and
lived
her entire life in the Holly Grove community. She leaves her husband,
John H.
PIPKIN, whom she married 53 years ago; a stepson, Arthur PIPKIN, of
Jones, Tenn.;
two sisters, Mrs. Archie BRANTLEY and Miss Burrie CASTELLAW, both of the
Holly
Grove community; nine nephews, Dorsey and Owen CASTELLAW, of Bells, Leon
CASTELLAW,
of West Memphis, Neeley CASTELLAW, of Memphis, Henry BRANTLEY, of
Skeeter, Tex.,
Wilburn BRANTLEY, of Akron, Ohio, Alton Brantley, of Canton, Ohio and Joe
& Robert
BRANTLEY, of Brownsville.
