James Berry, Sr. was born about 1799 in TN.1 James Berry, Sr.'s father was James Anderton and his mother was Peggy Morris. His paternal grandparents were UNKNOWN Anderton and Miss Unknown. He had two brothers and two sisters, named John, Sr., William, Jemima and Nancy. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died in Blount Co., AL.1 General Notes

On page 6 and 7 of this census it appears that several families of
different names are living in a large house/building of household 60 in
which a Daniel Murphy is Superintendent. Richard (82 years old, born in
SC and Jane Tidwell (it appears to be 48 years old and born in AL) are
living in this household also. Clement C. Anderton, James' son, married
Ellen Tidwell. Ron Bridges on 17 Aug 2002.
James Berry, Sr. and Mary were married in a religious ceremony in 1815 in Jefferson Co., TN.1 They had six sons and five daughters, named William, James Berry, Jr., Pleasant Monroe, Clement C., Unknown, Thomas M., Unknown, Cary Ann, Unknown, Nancy Ann and Unknown.
