Roger III was born in 1058 in St. Germain Montgomery, Normandie.  Roger III's father was Roger II, 1st Earl of Shrewsbury and his mother was Princess Mabel de Talvas Mabile d'AlenAon. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Hugues, Arnulph, Robert II, 3rd Earl of, Maud and Sybil.  He died at the age of 44 in 1102.
