Hewas murdered by Macbeth at Bothnagowan, now called Pitgaveny,near Elgin, 14 August 1040. By his wife, a kinswoman of Siward,Earl of Northumberland, he was father of Malcolm III (Ceannmor)and of Donald Bane, successively Kings of Scots."
