His paternal grandparents were Mormaer Crininan [Crinan; Grimus] "The Thane" de Mormaer of Atholl and Princess Bethoc [Beatrix; Beatrice] ferch Malcolm of Atholl or Scotland; his maternal grandparents were Prince Bode (Beodhe; Bjorn) Boete (Bearsson) of Scotland and Aefflaed [Aelfled Elfleda] of Bernicia. He had a brother named Malcolm "Ceann'Moir". He was the younger of the two children. He died on November 13th, 1093 in Alnwick Castle, SCOT.General Notes
