Miss was born about 1210 in Finlaggan Castle, Island of Islay, Scotland. Miss' father was Walter Stewart , 3rd High Steward of Scotland and her mother was Beatrix de Angus. Her paternal grandparents were Alan FitzWalter , 2nd High Steward of Scotland and Margaret de Galloway; her maternal grandparents were Gilchrist 4th Earl of Angus and Margaret Haraldsdottir. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Alexander, Walter "Ballioch", Elizabeth (Beatrix), Eupheme and Margaret. She was the third youngest of the six children.-
