Havard Thorfinnsson 11th Jarl of was born about 0940 in Orkney Islands, Scotland. Havard Thorfinnsson 11th Jarl of's father was Thorfinn "Skull Cleaver" 9th Jarl of Orkney and his mother was Grelod of Caithness. He had three brothers named Arnfinn Thorfinnsson 10th Jarl of, Hlodve Thorfinnsson 13th Jarl of and Liot Thorfinnsson 12th Jarl of. He was the second oldest of the four children. He died after 0979 in Stennis, Hrossey, Orkney Islands (killed by Ragnhild).General Notes

Havard, who was "a good chief and prosperous in harvests," m. his brotherís widow Ragnhild, who is said by a promise of marriage to have persuaded his sisterís son, Einar Klining, to kill him, but the date is not recorded, He was bur, at Stennis in Hrossey (Pomona) at a place afterwards called Havardsteigar [Havardís Fields].
