Count Albert I OF NAMUR 
Albert I was born in 0970 in Lower Lorriane. Albert I's father was Count Robert I OF NAMUR and his mother was Ermengarde OF LORRAINE. His paternal grandparents were Count Berenguer OF NAMUR and DE HAINAULT; his maternal grandfather was Otto OF LORRAINE. He was an only child. He died at the age of 41 in 1011.General Notes
Credited with the first unification of the country, convertedthe Danes to Christianity, and conquered Norway. After hisBaptism his fathers pagan tomb was transformed into a Christianplace of worship.
Introduced Christianity into Denmark, he had the famous Jellingrune stone erected in his parent memory. He was fatally woundedduring a rebellion by his son and successor, Sveng I.
