Maud de was born about 1285 in Wigmore, Herefordshire, England.  Maud de's father was Edmund 1st Baron de Mortimer , 7th Lord Wigmore and her mother was Margaret de Fiennes.  Her paternal grandparents were Roger de Mortimer , 6th Lord of Wigmore and Maud de Braose; her maternal grandparents were William II de Fiennes , Lord of Wendover and Blanche de Brienne , Lady of Loupeland. She had two brothers and a sister, named Roger de, John de and Joan de.  She was the oldest of the four children. She had a half-sister named Isolde (Iseude) de.  She died in Alton Castle, Cheadle, Staffordshire, England.

‌Maud de and Theobald 2nd Baron de were married in a religious ceremony on July 29th, 1302 in Wigmore, Herefordshire, England.  They had three daughters named Elizabeth de, Margery de and Joan de.
