Joan de was born in Wootton, Stanton Lacy, Shropshire, England.  Joan de's father was Theobald 2nd Baron de Verdun , MP, Sir and her mother was Maud de Mortimer.  Her paternal grandparents were Theobald 1st Baron de Verdun , Sir and Margery (Margaret) de Bohun , Heiress of Bisley; her maternal grandparents were Edmund 1st Baron de Mortimer , 7th Lord Wigmore and Margaret de Fiennes. She had two sisters named Elizabeth de and Margery de. She had a half-sister named Isabel de.  She died on October 2nd, 1334.

‌Joan de and John de were married in a religious ceremony on April 28th, 1317 in 1st husband.


Joan de's second family with Thomas 2nd Baron Furnival , Sir

‌Joan de and Thomas 2nd Baron were married in a religious ceremony in 2nd husband.  They had three sons and a daughter, named Thomas 3rd Baron de, William 4th Baron de, Edward Gerard and Maud (Matilda) de.
