Sir Thomas de Clare was born in of Thomond, Connaught, Ireland. Sir Thomas de Clare's father was Richard de Clare Earl of Gloucester & Hertford and his mother was Maude de Lacy Cts de Lincoln. His paternal grandparents were Gilbert de Clare Earl of Gloucester & Hertford and Isabella Marshal; his maternal grandparents were John de Lacy Earl of Lincoln and Margaret de Quincy. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Sir Gilbert the Red de, Bogo, Benedict, Isabel, Margaret, Rohese (Agnes) and Eglentiria. He died on August 29th, 1287 in Clare, Ireland.General Notes
