Rachel was born on April 10th, 1776 in Vale, Guernsey. Rachel's father was Pierre LE POIDVIN and her mother was Rachel SEBIRE. Her paternal grandparents were Pierre LE POIDVIN and Marthe ROBERT; her maternal grandparents were Jean SEBIRE and Rachel LE PATOUREL. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Pierre, Jean, Thomas, Daniel, Michel, Moise, Marie and Marthe. She was the second oldest of the nine children.
