Louis I "The Pious" was born in August 0778 in Casseneuil, Leige or, (lot-en-Garonne), France.  Louis I "The Pious"'s father was Charlemagne Holy Roman Emperor and his mother was Hildegard Princess of Swabia.  His paternal grandparents were Pepin III "The Short" King of Franks and Berthe of Laon. He had a brother and four sisters, named Pepin (or Carloman) of, Cunigunda Princess Of The, Rotrude, Bertha Of and Dhouda. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Hugh Duc, Aupais (Alpais) of the and Dhoude Of.  He died at the age of 61 on June 20th, 0840 in near Mainz, Ingelheim, Rhinehessen, Hesse.  He was buried in Aachen Cathedral, Aachen, Rheinland, Prussia.
