Maria was born in 1201 in Constantinople, Turkey. Maria's father was Holy Roman Emperor Phillip II Hohenstaufen Holy Roman Emperor and her mother was Irene Maria Angelica. Her paternal grandparents were Frederick I "Barbarossa" Holy Roman Emperor and Beatrix De Macon; her maternal grandparents were Isaac II Angelus Emperor of Byzantium and Irene Comnenus. She had three sisters named Beatrix, Cunegonde Von and Elizabeth Hohenstauffen Princess of. She was the second youngest of the four children. She died at the age of 34 in 1235.-
