Mahaut was born about 1224 in Brabant, Flandres.  Mahaut's father was Henri II 'the Courageous' Duke De Brabant and her mother was Maria Hohenstaufen.  Her paternal grandparents were Henri I Duc De Brabant and Of Alsace Maude De Boulogne Of Alsace; her maternal grandparents were Holy Roman Emperor Phillip II Hohenstaufen Holy Roman Emperor and Irene Maria Angelica. She had a brother named Henri III Duc.  She was the older of the two children. She had a half-brother named Heinrich I 'Das Kind' Landgraf Von.  She died on September 28th, 1288.


Mahaut's first family with Robert I Comte D'Artois

‌Mahaut and Robert I Comte were married in a religious ceremony on June 14th, 1237 in Compiegne, France.  They had a son and a daughter, named Robert II Comte and Blanche.


Mahaut's second family with Guy De Chatillon

‌Mahaut and Guy were married in a religious ceremony in 1250.  They had two sons named Hugues II and Guy III.
