William Heron , of Ford, Esq 
William was born about 1388 in Ford, Glendale, Northumberland, England. William's father was John Heron , of Ford, Sir Knight. His paternal grandparents were William 1st Baron Heron , of Ford, Sir and Isabel de Grey. He had a brother named John. He was the younger of the two children. He died in Etal near Ford, Northumberland, England (slain).General Notes
He [William Heron, Sir Knight (senior)] d. before the Percy forfeiture in 1403, when his son and heir William was ward to the Earl of Northumberland. William the son m. Isabel, whose parentage is unknown. He, as "William Heron of Ford, Esq." was slain 20 Jan 1427/8, while with some of his men, attacking the house of John Manners, of Etal, near Ford. His widow Isabel alleged that he had been killed maliciously. She m. 11 May 1432, at Whittingham, Sir William Lumley, of Ravenshelm. She was living 1483, being called Elizabeth in the Lumley inquisitions. William Heron and Isabel his wife had a son and heir John, who m. Elizabeth, great-granddaughter of Roger, 2nd lord of Ford, thus uniting the senior lines, as shown in the text, p. 488. [Complete Peerage VI:486 note (m)]
