John Heron , of Ford, Sir Knight 
John was born about 1335 in Ford, Glendale, Northumberland, England. John's father was William 1st Baron Heron , of Ford, Sir and his mother was Isabel de Grey. His paternal grandparents were Roger Heron , of Ford, Sir Knight and Elizabeth (Isabel) de Swinburne; his maternal grandparents were Thomas II Grey , of Heton, Sir and Agnes de Beyle. He had a brother named Roger. He was the younger of the two children. He died before 1403.General Notes
(m) William, his [younger] brother, had Ford. He is called "the blind, of Simonburn", in the pedigrees (eg. that by Sir Richard Heron compiled in 1798, where the eldest son Roger is omitted and his descendants are assigned to this William, whose descendants are assigned to John Heron of Thornton). In 1388, as "William Heron of Ford, Esq.", he complained that after a raid on his lands by the Scots two years previously he had made a counter-raid in time of truce, being thereupon imprisoned and fined by the Earl of Northumberland. He may have been the William Heron who was Knight of the shire for Northumberland in 1371. He d. before the Percy forfeiture in 1403, when his son and heir William was ward to the Earl of Northumberland. [Complete Peerage VI:486 note (m)]
