Owain ap Gruffudd , Lord de la Pole 
Owain ap was born about 1256 in Montgomeryshire, Wales. Owain ap's father was Gruffudd ap Gwenwynwyn , Prince of Powys and his mother was Hawise le Strange. His paternal grandparents were Gwenwynwyn ap Owain , Prince of South Powys and Margaret Corbet; his maternal grandparents were John III le Strange , Lord of Knockyn and Lucy de Tregoz. He had two brothers and a sister, named Gwilym ap, Llewelyn ap and Margaret verch. He was the second youngest of the four children. He died before October 15th, 1293.General Notes
Owen ap Gruffydd ap Gwenwynwyn alias de la Pole (ie. of Welshpool); allegedly surrendered the principality of Powis to Edward I in the late 13th century, though the principality had already been the subject of constant fighting and dispute between the Kings of England and Llywelyn the Last, Prince of Wales, receiving from Edward I in return the same area as a free Baron of England (ie. as Lord of a feudal barony).
