Elizabeth de was born about 1241 in Derby, Derbyshire, England.  Elizabeth de's father was William III de Ferrers , 5th Earl of Derby and her mother was Margaret de Quincy.  Her paternal grandparents were William II de Ferrers , 4th Earl of Derby and Agnes of Chester , Lady of Chartley; her maternal grandparents were Roger de Quincy , 2nd Earl of Winchester and Helen of Galloway. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Robert de, William IV, Joan de, Agnes de and Berta de.  She was the third oldest of the six children. She had five half-sisters named Isabel de, Agnes de, Maud (Matilda) de, Eleanor de and Joan de.  She died after June 1297.

‌Elizabeth de and William were married in a religious ceremony before 1257 in 1st husband 2nd wife.  They had a son named John.
