Louis I "The Pious" Holy Roman was born in August 0778 in Chasseneuil, Lot-et-Garonne near Poitiers, Aquitaine, France.  Louis I "The Pious" Holy Roman's father was Charlemagne I Holy Roman Emperor and his mother was Hildegard of Swabia.  His paternal grandparents were Pepin III "The Short" King of Franks and Berthe of Laon; his maternal grandparents were Gerold Count of Vinzgau Duke of Allemania and Emma of Allemania. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Hugo "The Bastard" l' and Aupais of.  He died at the age of 61 on June 20th, 0840 in Petersaue, Ingelheim am Rhein, Rhineland Palatinate, Germany.  He was buried in Aachen Cathedral, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.
