Richard FitzGilbert Of Hertford was born in 1100 in Hertford, England.  Richard FitzGilbert Of Hertford's father was Lord Gilbert FitzRichard Of Tonbridge And Cardigan DE CLARE and his mother was Adeliza DE CLERMONT.  His maternal grandparents were Count Hugh DE Creil Of Claremont DE CLERMONT and Marquerite DE ROUCY. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Gilbert FitzGilbert Of Pembroke and Hereford, Baldwin Fitzgilbert Of Bourne Deeping, John "The Marshall", Agnes, Alice, Margaret and Rose FitzGilbert Of Monmouth.  He was the third youngest of the eight children. He had a half-brother named Herve.  He died at the age of 36 on April 15th, 1136 in Abergauenny, Monmouth, Wales.
