Hildouin III was born in 1010 in Montdidier, Sommes, France. Hildouin III's father was Count Hildouin II DE MONTDIDIER and his mother was Lesseline**. Credited with the first unification of the country, convertedthe Danes to Christianity, and conquered Norway. After hisBaptism his fathers pagan tomb was transformed into a Christianplace of worship.
Introduced Christianity into Denmark, he had the famous Jellingrune stone erected in his parent memory. He was fatally woundedduring a rebellion by his son and successor, Sveng I.
‌Hildouin III and Alice DE ROUCY were married in a religious ceremony in 1031. They had two sons and seven daughters, named Andre, Ebles II, Marquerite, Ada, Adele, DE ROUCI, Beatrice, Adele DE MONTDIDIER and Felicie Of Aragon.
